Richie was playing host to Russian carp angler Serge Matkovsky of Moscow, who was a regular at Raduta until the recent fish kill put paid to his visit there. He told us:
Serge did very well, bagging fish in the 20 and 301b region, and also upper-doubles, from a stretch of the Ebro. The week was going well until weather conditions changed, and the water levels started to rise throughout the Ebro system, making the fishing slow. However, takes were still coming slowly.
Serge's best fish of the week was a 40lb 9oz common, a beautiful specimen, and one which was truly perfect in every way. Well done, Serge, and see you again in March 2005!
